Requirements

To set up the Smart DNS you will need:

1. A SmartDNS account. If you are not a current subscriber sign up here.
2. Your DNS addresses. You can find them under the Control panel on our website.

Note:

To unblock streaming services with our SmartDNS service, you have to register your IP address. Check out how to update your IP address under the Control Panel here.

Before we start, you should know a couple of things about how iOS handles DNS. First, these instructions only work for Wi-Fi connections – iOS does not allow you to change the DNS servers when connected to cellular/mobile networks. Also, the changes are network-specific, so you’ll need to change the DNS servers every time you connect to a new wireless network. The good thing is that iOS remembers the settings, so you won’t have to do anything the second time you connect to a network.

Step 1

Go to the “Settings” and tap on the “Wi-Fi” tab to open Wi-Fi settings.

On the right side of the Wi-Fi network you’re connected to, tap the blue info button “ⓘ” to show more advanced settings.

Tap “Configure DNS“.

Step 2

Select “Manual“.

Click “Add Server” and enter the IP addresses of our Smart DNS servers (you will find them under the Control Panel on our website).

Step 3

Click “Save” to apply changes.

You’re done! Here you will find what sites and media channels are unlocked via SmartDNS.
