Requirements

To set up the Smart DNS you will need:

  1. 1. A SmartDNS account. If you are not a current subscriber sign up here.
  2. 2. Your DNS addresses. You can find them under the Control panel on our website.

Note:

To unblock streaming services with our SmartDNS service, you have to register your IP address. Check out how to update your IP address under the Control Panel here.

Step 1

Navigate to the network manager icon in the menu bar and click the “Edit Connections…” item.

Step 2

Switch to the “Wired” or “Wireless” tabs, depending on your use case.  In this example, we will use the “WIFI” Connection.

Select the name of your network, and click the “Edit” button.

Switch to the IPv4 tab, and then change it from automatic DHCP to “Automatic (DHCP) addresses only”.

Enter both Smart DNS server IPs in this field separated by commas.

Step 3

Click the “Save” button and restart your computer.

 

You’re done! Here you will find what sites and media channels are unlocked via SmartDNS.
